David Caruso - NOT interested in Ovarian Cancer Fundraiser?

Last December a few David Caruso fans almost went nuts when it was announced that David Caruso was going to attend the Chix with Stix Fundraiser tournament in Charleston, South Carolina, on January 18-19, 2008 (Along with EvalaRue, Kelly Ripa and Emily Proctor http://www.topix.net/forum/who/david-caruso/TH1935I8PA34G14Q5)
The date the event was scheduled on came and went - but NO David Caruso.  Allegedly, they all cancelled a few weeks before. No explantion was given WHY.
Were they too busy to attend a fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer Research? With the show currently on hiatus that can't be the case.
Did the event have too little PR for the "stars"? Too little media interest for publicty-whore David Caruso???
Was the cancellation due to a conflict of interests between one of the sponsors - ABC- and CBS , Shouldn't a worthy cause like that stand above petty things like rivalry between networks?
David Caruso always likes to PRETEND that he is a very charitable person. However, cancelling a fundraiser for Ovarian Cancer Research for no aparent reason doesn't look too charitable, right?

What makes you think David has that much authority over who attends what fund raiser when and who doesn't?

I really don't think he has that kind of power.
Nor do I think he'd even try to tell people what charity event to attend and which ones not to.
I just don't think he'd do somthing like that.
