I'm not sure if anybody noticed but David Caruso has aged badly. If you look at pictures from 2002 and now - with only 4 years inbetween - the difference is startling. In epsisode "Rio" you could even see his pot-belly.
OK, we ALL age. Some better some worse. Agreed that he is shooting 5 days a week eight hours a day - not always but very often.
We know that he had a drinking problem when he was on NYPD Blue. Even if you are manage to dry out the addiction is always looming. Look at Nick Nolte, look at Mel Gibson, look at Pete Doherty....
Carusos face has all the signs of an alcoholic. It is puffy, the lines are deep - especially around his eyes - not even the make-up can cover it up. Maybe the success of CSI Miami has made him careless towards his outward experience. Or the messy divorce from wife number 3 has taken its toll on him. For people with addiction problems it doesn't need much to go back to old habits again.
