The fame and glory of David Caruso

NYPD Blue hunk David Caruso blaimes his two failed marriages (IN THE MEANTINE THE COUNT IS THREE) on his own parents' divorce.
"I didn't know how to have a relationship." The redheaded heartthrob admits. My parents (IT IS ALWAYS THE PARENTS FAULT ISN'T IT?) didn't have the information we have now about how powerful adults can be if they're not careful about what they say."

He says he unknowingly sabotaged his own marriages because of painful experiences in his home while growing up - and the breakup of his parents relationship.
"I didn't know it was inappropriate and self-indulgent for me to become nasty because I was frustrated about work."

Caruso who hasn't spoken to his dad Charlie in more than 4 years was just two when his father moved out of their Queens, NY home. The last time he spoke to his dad was in 1990. At this time the actor was divorcing his second wife, actress Rachel Ticotinm, they have a daugther, Greta.

Carusos personal woes apparently started soon after his first marriage to aspiring actress Cheri Maugans in 1979.
"David insisted she go on location with him whenever he got a job." says an insider.
"Cheri had to defer to David. He specifically told her to put her career on hold while he was working.
"Cheri was just as career-directed as David, but his ground rules for their marriage held her back. Cheri spend lots of time twindling her thumbs - and the relationship soured."
Cheri's father, Harry Maugans, agrees that David's domineering attitude hurt the marriage which ended in divorce 1984.
"David was a very possessive guy." Maugans tells STAR.

That year, Caruso married rachel Ticotin, and they divorced in 1990. A year earlier , she'd moved out after David confronted her and co-star Arnold Schwarzenegger on the set of "Total Recall" accusing them of having an affair which they both denied.

Caruso now lives in Santa Monica with his finance, former masseuse Paris Papiro, who - in an echo of his first marriage - gave up her occupation to be Caruso's assistant.
"Our relationship is an equal partnership." Caruso insists. (WELL -HE BOOTED HER OUT A MONTH AFTER THIS INTERVIEW)
