TV-star David Caruso has proposed to a BEAUTIFUL BLONDE (HE DOES BLONDES AFTER ALL) in New Yorkm, friends reveal - and no one is more surprised than his sexy-live-in girlfriend Paris Papiro, whO's waiting for him in Los Angeles!

Pals say the red-headed actor asked assistant-producer Caryn Krooth to marry him after dating for just six weeks.

Meanwhile, former masseuse Paris Papiro is back in the rented Hollywood Hills home she shares with David - and insists their 4-year-relationship is still on.
"David has lost of female friends and I'm sure Caryn is among them." says Paris."Everything is fine between us and we are still going out together."

But David,who's now filming in the Big Apple, has been spotten enjoying intimate dinners at "Nello's" restaurant - a few blocks from Caryn's aparteme´nt. And the couple steps out regularily for lavish shopping sprees together.
"David has popped the big question to Caryn, but she hasn't made a decision yet." A pal confides. "They've only been seeing each other for a short time and she wants to get to know him a little better before they get engaged (CLEVER WOMAN!!!)

David began looking for a more mature down-to-earth partner after telling Paris she "had some growing-up to do"." says an insider.
And it looks like Caryn fills the bill. She's a film professional who has worked with Woody Allen and is set to begin a new Sean Connery film next month.
David, who#s now shooting a remake of the 1974 gangster classic "Kiss of Death", co-starring Nicolas Cage, has been married twice before.

"They're a perfect match." says a friend. "She's funny, intelligent and very beautiful. david's an old fashioned guy and he's definitely head-over-heels in love with her. David never has mentioned another girl back in California. he has only eyes for Caryn."
